The Law of Attraction is one of the best ways of creating positive change in your life. The Law states that "like attracts like". Whether you realize it or not, you are using this amazing law right now. You attract everything that comes into your life, from situations to people to what's going on with your finances. How is this possible?

Every thought we think creates energy. That energy is like a wave that goes out into the Universe and, like a magnet, attracts similar energies. Those energies have a boomerang effect that eventually comes back to us to create our reality.

Once you learn how to use this law to your advantage you can begin to attract the things you want in your life.

So, what is attraction? And how can you use it to achieve your goals?

Here is what a few great minds think...

Manifesting can seem a little intimidating for some people, especially if they don't see the results they want right away. But applying the Law of Attraction is simple if you follow a few easy steps:

1. Make Room For Change

When deciding to put the Law of Attraction to work in your life, there are a few changes you need to make. You must start by living intentionally which means you figure out what it is you clearly want to change or add in your life. Next, you must get rid of negative things you don't need. That includes everything from negative thoughts to piles of junk in your garage. You can start small so you don't feel overwhelmed. Once you start clearing away some of the garbage, it will free your mind and your life to begin a positive spiral that will make room for new and better things to come.

Negative thoughts need to be cleared away as well, however, some may be difficult to get rid of. Sometimes you just feel like being angry right!? But you need to realize that negative thoughts drag you down and deplete your power. Also, a positive thought is much, much more powerful than a negative one. Therefore, by controlling your thoughts, you put yourself in a favorable position to create and receive success.

Try using this simple technique:

When something happens to upset you, you produce an array of negative thoughts and feelings such as anger, frustration, bitterness and fear. When you are in this state, stop, and really become aware of the feelings you are having. Then consciously feel and think the exact opposite. So instead of anger, you switch to love, from frustration to calmness, from bitterness to understanding, and from fear to security.

Not possible you say? It is possible! It may take some practice to let go of feelings that are not serving you, but it is absolutely doable.

Now, you may not want to let go of some of those feelings and that's okay, for a moment. Recognize you are hurt and you feel hurt, but don't let it continue because it can create a problem for you in the long run.

When we refuse to let go of negative thoughts and feelings we are living in what's called our 'ego' and not in the present moment. Our ego drags us back again and again to situations where we felt powerless, thus producing those same feelings of frustration, helplessness, etc. If we can let go of the ego, and stay in the present moment, those thoughts and feelings won't have power over us. Imagine being free of those limiting vices! It is one of the great secrets of achieving true happiness.

After some practice, you'll realize you feel calmer and more sure of who you are. That's when you can really get on the road to attracting great things!

2. Ask, Then Focus

That is, deliberately, consciously and clearly ask for what you want and then focus on a positive outcome. Doing so sets the stage to begin to unlock your imagination. It is very important to be crystal clear. The Universe is very organized and follows correct principles. It loves precision and gives us exactly what we ask for and focus on. The Law of Attraction would not be a law if it were not so. If we're vague or half-hearted about what we want, we will receive vague or half-hearted results.

When applying the Law of Attraction, one great way to ask for what you want is to use affirmations.

Making a list of short, specific phrases that support your goal and then saying or thinking them repeatedly throughtout the day will help keep your focus on your goal. Try doing this at least three times per day, upon arising, at midday and before you go to sleep.

3. Believe You Have Already Achieved Your Goal

Make it real in your mind. Think and act as if you already have what you want. Spend some time imagining yourself at the moment of reaching your personal growth goal. Feel the happiness, satisfaction and success. Believe you have achieved. The Law of Attraction works on this premise.

We must learn to correct our beliefs. We develop them (positive or negative) from the time we are infants and tend to give them so much credence, when really they are just thoughts. When we hold these thoughts for long periods of time and continue to hold them, they become strong and therefore, become a belief. At that point they are either important to us, or a detriment. If our beliefs are not serving us, we can choose to change them. Just change the thought that led to the belief from a negative one to a positive one.

4. Take Action!

When you are impressed to do something, do it! Don't pass up opportunities that present themselves, even if they seem small or insignificant. You can't expect the Universe to help you get what you want if you will not act. Remember, the Universe works on correct principles.

Take the example of the baker: She decides to make a cherry pie. It sounds so good, and she can envision it already made, bubbly, with a flaky crust; she can almost smell it. So, she sets out to acquire the ingredients and find the recipe. Looking at it she realizes it's a fair amount of work to make, but decides it will be worth the effort. She clears her workspace and gathers the appropriate tools and ingredients for the job. Everything is in place to start. Now, the baker has a choice; If she just sits there and wants the pie, what will happen? Obviously, the pie will not make itself. All the wanting in the world will not produce that pie unless she is willing to do the work it requires. So she starts the process, and works at it, taking action by following the directions. It takes some time and effort but pretty soon, the job's done. She has what she envisioned and it's even better than she imagined!

This is the way the Law of Attraction works. You have to act. You never know what slight descision to act will shift the Universe in your favor.

To sum up:

Let go of the negative, ask for what you want, deliberately focus on that want, believe it can be done and then take action. We have the ability to create the positive anywhere we want in our lives, if we will apply the Law of Attraction.
